With lots of newer webmasters here there is a need to go back to some of the work smarter not harder basics, with a twist of course :)
So In this weeks Newbie Project you will be building a single personal help page.
All links should be target equals new so you pop a new page when clicked.
And should be uploaded to a place on the net so you can access it from where ever you are (unless otherwise mentioned) and take advantage of this huge time saver.
This help page will consist of these following sections:
Head tags
(Your normal head tags for your metas so they are a quick cut and paste when you need them. Note this one does not need to be clickable, but placeing it in a form field for easy editing and cut and pasting is a good move here.)
Special Tags
(This is where you place special tags for self blurs, exits consoles, pop-ups, ..etc....include info as to where they go and what special items to place on links and in the body tags if needed. This one also is a very good one to have in a form field and should not be clickable.)
Favorite link trades
(this is where you place the URL of the submit page of your favorite and most commonly used link type sites, including SE's and TGPs. Include YOUR contact persons name as a clickable mail to link beside each url for those times when you will need it. This can also include recips. and recip. tables.)
Sponsor Stats URLs
(this should include all your sponsors stats urls AND a mail to link so you can click and send mail to YOUR contact at that sponsor)
Sponsor Urls and codes
(Your sponsor URLs and codes BY sponsor OR Niche so you can cut and paste in mear seconds. Including some of your best text and best converting banner for each sponsors site wth absolte URL at this point would also be a very good idea to do or to add as you become aware of what is converting best for you.)
Private Contact List
(Who do you converse with most often and on a reg. basis via email about webmastering issues, link trades reviews,..etc..include thier name, affiliation if they have one, and make them a clickable mail to link as well.)
Tables List
(Place your three most used and vastly different tables here and inculde form fields for thier easy cut and paste.)
This as it grows can become very large and it may in fact for many of you already be at a very large point.
You simply need to create your own jump page and have each section in its own page for you to look at and access in your building.
Doing this will speed up your building, submitting, and provide an online backup of this info for you to tap into should you need it.
